Class etiquette and Guidelines:
Practice with an empty stomach. Do not eat a full meal for at least 3 hours before Yoga practice. This strengthens the metabolism and aids the purification of blood, organs and tissues. Refrain from eating 30 minutes after your practice. Do not drink water during or just after practicing. It can prevent the process of purification. Do drink plenty of water 20 minutes after class. If you have specific Health condition. Please ask your Doctors’ advice before coming to class. If you have a health problem or an injury please inform me. Please come to class bathed. Cleanliness ( Shaucha), is part of the 8 limbs of Yoga. Wear clean and light clothes, with a clean mat. Bring a light towel with you if you sweat alot. Avoid wearing jewellery and perfume. Please leave your shoes in the hallway or to the side of the room in the venues outside of The private Practice space. Please respect the student-teacher relationship, and trust in your teacher’s guidance. If you are having difficulty remembering or have come to the last posture that you can recall, please wait patiently upon the mat and I will come to you.
If you are feeling emotional, tired, frustrated, this is part of the process of Yoga, do not fight these feelings back or leave the room. Embrace these emotions as part of your practice of self-discovery. Please talk to me whenever you are having difficulty. Please be nice to yourself and all others. Respect your own limitations, emotions and that of others too. I am not here to judge you. So please do your best not to judge yourself or those beside you. Listen to your body and allow others to listen to theirs. Respecting that we are each on our own journeys. Female students should not practice during the first few days of their menstrual cycle. During these dates we will meditate, do a restorative practice. In the small private classes 24 hours notice is required before cancellation (unless it is an emergency) otherwise full payment will be expected.
I welcome all levels and abilities. From those who have no previous experience of yoga and those who are already practicing. I mainly teach in small groups. I prefer this style and so do my students. It creates an intimate and friendly space for learning to take place. Classes are taught from a privately run Yoga room in Harlow, Essex. Each class is catered for only six students. I also run a number of outside classes too at local venues. To avoid disappointment as classes are small and intimate, please contact me for availability. ALL CLASSES ARE MYSORE (SELF- PRACTICE) STYLE. It is suggested in order to gain the full benefits of this practice, students should do their best to attend more than one class per week.
I would like to run early morning classes during week days from 6—8am . If you are interested, please contact me. Please check for availability and to book a space. Anyone can join, as these classes are ongoing. Refer back to this page as classes can be subjected to change or new ones added.
In the Ashtanga tradition, there is no practice on full and new moon days. This is a time that we learn to observe the workings of Nature and to rest and reflect.
My main objective is to help people develop a sacred, safe, private, healing, meditative and consistent practice. I want students to take back the responsibility for their own healing and to unlock their true potential. “We see ourselves as that which we are not – and that which we are we fail to recognise’ Richard L.
